Which it wouldn’t do for quite a few adventures. So apparently she assumed the TARDIS could easily return her back to Earth at her proper time. After he regenerated, she decided to go with them on the TARDIS to make sure the newly regenerated Doctor was okay. Tegan first met the Fourth Doctor on her way to Heathrow Airport, where her aunt was taking Tegan to her job as a stewardess. Sometimes he would instigate little fights with her just to wound her up. And two be fair, it wasn’t always her that started trouble with the Doctor.
But she did end up to be the longest companion on the TARDIS for the Fifth Doctor, no matter how much the two bickered with one another. Tegan was possibly a short-term companion it wasn’t quite certain. Makes logical sense to get rid of the hair for those reasons! So Tegan had a new ‘do! She stated in a DVD commentary that it was due to over treating her hair with hot hair curlers and also chemicals from hair dye. Janet chopped her hair off for the 20th season. First, he wrote Jovanka down as a possible first name, and then Tegan came into place. He chose the costume designs for the Doctors …some weren’t bad, and one was extremely bad. John Nathan-Turner was the Executive Producer of Doctor Who in the early 1980’s to the end of its run in 1989. But some people blame Janet herself for the character and this is when I have to point out this is not the case.
